Road Trip Wednesday: Best Book of February

It’s Road Trip Wednesday as hosted by YA Highway every Wednesday!

This week, the question posed is What was the best book you read in February?

I guess it’s good I’m not starting Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell today, isn’t it? I’m making myself wait to get this book until I get through HOMELAND by Cory Doctorow and A NATURAL HISTORY OF DRAGONS by Marie Brennan. So probably next week 🙂

In February, I read a LOT of really good books. But I think the BEST book I read has to be Paper Valentine by Brenna Yovanoff. That was just an artful, beautifully done book and incredibly rewarding to read. As I said in the linked review on this blog about it, “…know that this isn’t a coming of age story as much as it is a story about coming back and coming up. I think I would call it a coming up story.”

What were your favorite reads in February?

I like the idea of a ‘coming up’ story vs a ‘coming of age’ story — we can keep ‘coming up’ even after we’re adults. I loved your review — it sounds like this book surprised you (and I am intrigued by the idea of a girl learning to assert herself through the ghost of a lost friend).
